Preeti Hothi, healthcare writer and health communication strategist

Hi, I’m Preeti, a strategic healthcare writer specialising in women’s health, patient communication and translating complex science that needs to be understood and trusted.

I focus on making the complex clear, credible and meaningful to the people it’s designed to reach.

But my move into health wasn’t a strategic pivot. It was personal.

At a point where everything looked on track from the outside, I chose to step away from my career. Not because I had something better lined up, but because something no longer felt right. What followed was a period of confusion that I couldn’t easily explain at the time, which I later understood to be linked to a hormonal imbalance.

Like many others, I went searching for answers. What I found was information, but very little understanding. The language was jargon-heavy, often confusing, contradictory and disconnected from the experience of actually living with a symptomatic condition.

That experience changed how I see healthcare communication. Behind every piece of content is a person trying to make sense of something that matters deeply to them, and too often they are not being spoken to in a way that reflects that reality.

That’s what I’m here to change.

What I bring to the work.

A background in branding and advertising, academic grounding and the unique position of having been a patient myself directly shape how I approach every project. I think about what the reader needs to understand and believe, not just what the science or brand needs to say.

I have a deep understanding of both the science of how people process information and the practical experience of changing minds and behaviour at scale.

I work particularly with businesses in women’s health, digital therapeutics, healthtech and complex biotech and medtech areas where the distance between technical accuracy and real-world understanding tends to be the widest.

Work with me.

I work with a small number of clients at a time, which means the work gets the attention it deserves.

If you’re working on something where the communication needs to do the heavy lifting, I’d like to help.

But I didn’t arrive here through a straighforward path

For nearly two decades, I worked in global advertising across Asia Pacific, China and the Middle East, helping brands shape their messaging, capture attention and influence behaviour at scale.

That work taught me things that no science background alone can teach. How people engage with information, what cuts through, what gets ignored, and what actually lands and why with an audience. The difference between a message that is technically correct and one that genuinely moves people.

I then went back to graduate school and did my Masters in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Neuroscience.
